i understand what he is doing, maybe he doesn't want to dump a crap load of money into a car if ppl said something like "my car was gone at 200000", "mine at 180000", "mine at 230000" then he would know that generally the car is gone at about 200K. If ppl were like "gone at 60k", "just rolled to 300k last nite and still runnin strong" etc... then he would know its just luck (and maintenance).......he prolly is also considering the turbos as the engine too.... we all know a car is a pretty big purchase and a lousy investment(every mile we drive our cars depreicate) so maybe he doesn't want to make a mistake, anyways pal good luck on your search i can't help you with ur question i don't own a tt. but whatever you do get a compression test done and take it to a respected mechanic (but remember even then you might get hooped)
